I am Professor Emeritus in the Department of Computer Science & Engineering at the University of North Texas. I hold a BS with First Class Honours in Computer Science and Mathematics from the University of Queensland and a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Warwick. My research interests intersect many areas of computer science including algorithms and complexity theory, video game programming, procedural content generation, artificial intelligence, computer graphics, neural networks, and parallel computing. I pioneered the teaching of video game programming to undergraduates in 1993. Alumni of my classes can be found throughout the video game industry and include Jason West, co-founder of the Call of Duty franchise.
